Uruguay Germany 1935 Graf Zeppelin Mi441Db 3rd SAF Cover Mountain Lighthouse Cachet Beuerle Estate
Uruguayan registered cover flown aboard the Graf Zeppelin LZ127 airship's 1935 Suedamerikafahrt (SAF) / South America Flight. '17 CV EUR280 -- the much scarcer variety with the Berg mit Leuchturm / Mountain and Lighthouse cachet. This is from the estate of the nephew of Oberingenieur Karl Beuerle, a lead mechanic on the Zeppelin. A long-time airman, having survived serving in various WWI Zeppelin airships, he was with the Graf from the start (we have several pioneer usages as well!). We were lucky enough to purchase the entire Zeppelin collection of the nephew, who took all of "Onkel Karl's" correspondence and added to it with many further flights (such as this one).
