Pier of Yokohama postcard dated April 18, 1901, used from on board the SMS Kaiserin Elizabeth, in China to support the Alliance of 8 Country's troops in suppressing the Boxer Rebellion. This is a scarce card from the small contingent of the Austrian Kriegsmarine in the Far East at this period. Austria had a relatively small Navy which became landlocked after WWI. With POLA 1 (their main naval base) receiver. Slightly worn, small tear at right margin. Sharp strike of the SM SCHIFF cachet. Rare!

Card from the Torpedoboot 'Wolf' with the 3. Torpedoboots-Flottille / 3rd Torpedo Boat Fleet of the 12. Spanien Verband / 12th Spanish Assembly of the German Navy, issued and used (with Genoa machine cancel) while the boat stopped in Genua / Genova / Genoa, Italy. Advertising for the absentee vote for the Austrian Anschluss in 1938 -- a rare combination. From 1936 until 1938, the German Navy, along with land and air forces (The Condor Legion), were sent to support Franco's Falangists (Spanish Phalanx of the Assemblies of the National Syndicalist Offensive / Falange Espanola de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista) in the Spanish Civil War / Spanischen Buergerkrieges.
