Feldpost/Inselpost Rhodos Lokalaufdruck Michel 8A: The perforated, Inselpost, overprinted Luftfeldpost permit stamp, one of the rarities of German Feldpost collecting. Only 50 issued. The Petry BPP photo cert states that this is "from a member of the 6th Battry of Arillery Regiment 999 (island detachment) on Rhodes" and "Except for a light corner crease which is not unusual this has fresh color and normal perforations and in light of its historical usage and significance is in good condition; the cover itself is in good condition. Inselpost covers with the local overprint from Rhodes on perforated airmail Feldpost stamps are rare!". I think that says it all. Also comes with older Wallner BPP and Pickenpack BPP certificates -- due to its rarity it has been certified several times. At the time of this writing not a single other example is being offered at auction.

Rare 1923(!) Deutschland Erwache National Socialist private postal stationery pair, with the complete text to the NSDAP anthem printed inside, and a long message from the author Dietrich Eckart, with signature at the end of the message and also as return address reverse. Eckart helped create the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, the political party which later changed its name to the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP). A key influence on Hitler, Eckart, (naturally a virulent Anti-semite) died a short time later, in December. Rare as private postal stationery, and even rarer for the use of one of the founders of the Nazi party. Coincidentally, it was used on Hitler's birthday. A historical piece.

The letter was sent to his wife Nelli, who he believed had yet to be transported to Theresienstadt. At this point in time she was thought to still at the Hagibor labor camp within the Jewish Ghetto at Prague. Sent very late in the war, in January of 1945. Given the circumstances at the time it's not surprising it took a month to make it a few hundred miles.

German WWII-occupied Bohemia Moravia postal card from inmate Nelli Mueller in Prag XI, Schweringasse (Czech: Schwerinova) 1201. This address is a Gestapo office used to address mail for inmates in the Hagibor forced labor camp portion of the Jewish Ghetto in Prague. Nelli was Jewish who married Czech ethnic German man Bohomil Mueller. For this "crime" Nelli was interned in Hagibor before ultimately being deported to Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, while Bohomil was sentenced to a series of hard labor camps, ultimately ending in Osterode, Harz at an Org Todt subcamp of KL Mittelbau-Dora, working on the mines for the V1/V2 production. Uncanceled, censor handstamped HAGIBOR (rare!). It's actually amazing Nelli lasted this late in the war in Prague; February 1945 finds here in Theresienstadt.
