Japanese girl postcard dated Nov 8, 1904, used from on board the SMS Kaiserin Elizabeth, in Japan on the Asia station to protect Austrian interests in China after the Boxer Rebellion. A scarce card from the small contingent of the Austrian Kriegsmarine in the Far East in this period. Austria had a relatively small Navy which became landlocked after WWI. With POLA 1 (their main naval base) receiver. Sharp strike of the SM SCHIFF cachet. Rare!

Postcard of Otto von Bismarck, with a message and bold signature of Georg Ritter von Schoenerer, a noted Austrian anti-Semite revered by Adolf Hitler. Propaganda cards, cancels and stamps were produced by the 3rd Reich to honor Schoenerer, one of the more famous is included (see scans).
