Very unusual -- a stamp has been removed (by the post office?) and in its place (instead of on the back, as is normal) there is a Bos-Novi, Bosnia - Jugoslavia receiver. Original US cover intended to be flown on the Hindenburg Zeppelin airship's return from its first trip to America in 1937. Never made it, of course, due to the Hindenburg's crash at Lakehurst the day after this mailing. Slightly worn, good condition, as per scans. '01 CV EUR350++ (only 722 covers were registered) for the non-flight. Sent registered airmail with New York Foreign Mail cancel for the day of the crash, after rerouting. With the handstamp lower right saying returned because of the crash -- also 'Return to Sender' markings. About as close as most of us will get to flown crash cover.
