Luft-Feldpost cover from Baeckerei-Kompanie 179, inside the Stalingrad encirclement (Kessel), where the hapless German units were trapped until the ultimate annihilation of Paulus' 6th Army. Worn, good, genuinely used condition, as per scan. With long contents to the man's daughter: "It is 9PM and I am finally done with my work....[I love you etc]... The boring snow continues to fall and it is always ever so cold. I have a bad cold [I need better gloves?] Perhaps you could send me some woolen gloves. Tomorrow morning I get up at 4AM to try and take Stalingrad again..."
