Picture postcard of Lidice, Czechoslovakia (then German Occupied Bohemia Moravia), the town that was obliterated by the Nazis in retribution for the killing of SS Reichsprotektor Reinhard Heydrich. Virtually everyone in the town save a few children were murdered and every building blown up and/or razed -- the town was erased. With cancel reverse from Bustehrad, a the nearest surviving town, on the 3rd anniversary of the execution by firing squad of all the males of the city.
