Original US cover intended to be flown on the Hindenburg Zeppelin airship's return from its first trip to America in 1937. Never made it, of course, due to the Hindenburg's crash at Lakehurst the day after this mailing. Slightly worn, good condition, as per scans. '01 CV EUR150+++. Sent airmail with New York Duplex cancel for the day of the crash, and then forwarded by ship to Europe and flown to Austria, with Wien Flugpost / Vienna Airmail receiver (unusual). About as close as most of us will get to flown crash cover.
