Original British propaganda forgery of the German Michel 1 Luft-Feldpost - LuPo - stamp. Postfrisch / Mint never hinged (MNH). '19 CV EUR3000++ as singles. Sheet lightly folded along perf line, excellent condition.

One of the very popular King George VI propaganda forgeries which place the Jewish Star of Daivd on the top of the crown, and a hammer and sickle in place of the pence symbol next to the value at the bottom. These were then overprinted with a variety of slogans. This Castelle Gandolfo overprint is quite scarce. MNG as issued. These were created by inmates in the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp as a part of Operation Wasserwelle under SS Major Bernhard Kreuger (See the psyops.org or psywarrior.com websites), or read the book "Krueger's Men" by Leonard Malkin. Used with the forged London AAAO exhibition cancel. Only 30 sets were produced. 30. Thirty. The 2024 CV is, IMO, a ridiculously low EUR600. Only reason a German set with this low of an issue isn't in the thousands is that very few collectors even know what these are.

An extremely rare leaflet dropped once (or at least found only once) at a V1 crash site in southeast England. The text "Do you like that? You do? You may not in a months time! Air Raid on Cologne June 28/29, 1943" and then an arrow points to the other side, which displays a stack of bodies, mostly children, gathered after the Cologne raid. It's hard to say definitively, but judging by auction appearances this seems to to be rarer than all of the V1 POW Post leaflets save No22. In any case, there are only a handful known. Worn and creased, as per scan.

One of the rare "Shadow over England" series of leaflets distributed over Allied troops as they fought up the boot of Italy in 1944-5. This is leaflet numbered AI-091-8-44; "AI" stands for Propaganda Abschnitts Offizer Italien (see the excellent psywarrior article for more information). Each in the series depicts V1's, aka 'Doodlebugs' and 'Flying Robots', flying towards/over England. The text on the reverse reproduces contemporary reports excerpted from English newspapers to let the front line know what was happening back home during the Blitz. In top condition.

This is my favorite V1 propaganda leaflet -- inviting the Allies to "Go South to Sunny Germany" (and die). Produced by the SS propaganda unit Skorpion West under SS Standarte Kurt Eggers <a href="http://www.psywarrior.com/V1RocketLeaf.html">(see an excellent article here)</a>. Slightly worn, good condition, as per scans.

What An American Citizen Thinks About This War! Reproducing letters from a father to his POW son. These were dropped on Belgium in September 1944 and Matsbos, Holland, early in 1945 [Joe Nagl, via Psywarrior.com]. This is a slightly better example than the one illustrated on the Psywarrior site, and comes from the same source, with a provenance from the Nagl collection. Very, very few known.

Rocket leaflet prepared by the Germans for the Allies, extolling their secret weapon, the V1 rocket. This series is quite rare, with only a handful known to exist in England. There is a great article on the V1 leaflets on the Psywar website. Some V1's carried, in additional to their explosive payload, a small canister of leaflets which were deployed around the site of impact -- this is one of the few survivors. It's a four page (single fold) newspaper giving the current 'news', with a German slant, of course.

Rocket leaflet prepared by the Germans for the British, extolling their newest secret weapon, the V1 rocket. Dropped on Allied troops in Italy in 1944 as they fought up the boot. Shows southern England burning, being stuck by a giant 'V1'. A little wrinkled and chipped; in very good condition for one of these. After all, these did fall out of airplanes onto the battlefield, and generally only survive after being picked up as curiosities by soldiers. Very scarce.

V1 POW Post are among the rarest known rocket leaflet series; prepared by the Germans for the Allies. Only a handful known to exist. There is a great article on these V1 leaflets on the Psywarrior website. These reproduce actual letters from British POWs. The idea was that the families of the POWs would respond to these letters, giving the Germans an idea of when/where the bombs were hitting, so as to provide feedback on their accuracy. The British authorities realized this and attempted to gather and destroy them all, which is another reason for their scarcity. It wasn't known at the time whether the letters were real or not, but after enough of the original letters turned up they proved that indeed the Germans were copying real POW letters. At least one POW's family (by published report) first learned that their son survived by way of one of these V1 rocket leaflets.
