V1 Shadow Over England Rocket Leaflet AI-091-8-44 London Blitz
One of the rare "Shadow over England" series of leaflets distributed over Allied troops as they fought up the boot of Italy in 1944-5. This is leaflet numbered AI-091-8-44; "AI" stands for Propaganda Abschnitts Offizer Italien (see the excellent psywarrior article for more information). Each in the series depicts V1's, aka 'Doodlebugs' and 'Flying Robots', flying towards/over England. The text on the reverse reproduces contemporary reports excerpted from English newspapers to let the front line know what was happening back home during the Blitz. In top condition.

V1 1944 Bombing England Italy Rocket Propaganda Leaflet
Rocket leaflet prepared by the Germans for the British, extolling their secret weapon, the V1 rocket. The code on the reverse, AI-077-6-44 shows that this was dropped on Allied troops in Italy in 1944 -- "AI" stands for Propaganda Abschnitts Offizer Italien (see the excellent psywarrior article for more information), as they fought up the boot. It shows the V for V1 / Victory over London burning. Great original piece of history, from the world's first mechanical (also called at the time 'flying robots') rocket attacks. Worn, wrinkled, chipped etc -- this was dropped on a battlefield, after all. Very rare.

3rd Reich Germany V1 Propaganda Leaflet POW Letters What An American Citizen Thinks
What An American Citizen Thinks About This War! Reproducing letters from a father to his POW son. These were dropped on Belgium in September 1944 and Matsbos, Holland, early in 1945 [Joe Nagl, via Psywarrior.com]. This is a slightly better example than the one illustrated on the Psywarrior site, and comes from the same source, with a provenance from the Nagl collection. Very, very few known.

Germany 1944 V1 Rocket Flown Leaflet Berlin 1944 The Other Side Nr3 Christmas Greetings
Rocket leaflet prepared by the Germans for the Allies, extolling their secret weapon, the V1 rocket. This series is quite rare, with only a handful known to exist in England. There is a great article on the V1 leaflets on the Psywar website. Some V1's carried, in additional to their explosive payload, a small canister of leaflets which were deployed around the site of impact -- this is one of the few survivors. It's a four page (single fold) newspaper giving the current 'news', with a German slant, of course. Issue number three was deployed over the Netherlands. Very scarce, V1 leaflet in top condition.

V1 Propaganda Leaflet This is An Experiment Lets Try It The ORIGINAL Leaflet
After the V1 POW Post, probably the most well known and poular of the V1-dropped leaflets. This Flugblatter shows stacks of the German dead in Freiburg from the beginning of the war, and a quote overhead "This is an experiment -- let's try it." These are real pictures of German casualties which were blamed on the British, but in actuality appear to have been done by the Germans themselves, accidentally bombing their own city. There is a common forgery of this sheet which reproduces a fold in the original they copied from -- as a copy the forgery also is printed much more coarsely (artifacts from the copying), and also has a largish black dot in the lower right hand of the picture on the reverse. This leaflet is, of course, the original. Trace of tape on reverse spine, folded. Very good condition for one of these.

V1 July 1944 England Burning Italy Propaganda Rocket Leaflet
Rocket leaflet prepared by the Germans for the British, extolling their newest secret weapon, the V1 rocket. Dropped on Allied troops in Italy in 1944 as they fought up the boot. Shows southern England burning, being stuck by a giant 'V1'. A little wrinkled and chipped; in very good condition for one of these. After all, these did fall out of airplanes onto the battlefield, and generally only survive after being picked up as curiosities by soldiers. Very scarce.
