Cover used in the Germany East Africa / Deutsche Ostafrika (DOA) Feldpost system during WWI with Feldpoststation *2* CDS. A remarkable cover under the FPN2 cancel label (the right quarter is loose so you can see underneath), is the original cover from FPN3-- due to the wartime shortage of paper the sender reused the cover to them and sent it back to Liwale, a small village in the Lindi area without its own post office. Wartime delivery must have been an absolute miracle. The cancels on cover CV EUR1650+, but this is a very unusual piece.
