Amazing, original Nachlass / estate lot from sailor aboard the German WWII Schlachtschiff / Battleship Bismarck, FPN16287, from its christening/construction phase to its maiden (and final) voyage. The best piece is doubtless the cover from the day of departure on it's first/last battle cruise, but every cover is a Feldpost from the ship, with contents, sent home to the sailor's wife. Quite a find -- I was astonished that after over 80 years one of these collections could turn up intact. Adding to the collection of 21 Feldpost are two 1941 mourning cards sent to the widow.
